ARMY MEN has been living on the downloads page of the CreativeLogic web site since it’s completion in January. Now that it has won three Telly Awards and will be listed on the Telly Awards web site soon, I figured it should at least get it it’s own web page. I also uploaded it to YouTube.com and embedded the movie on that page. Click on the ARMY MEN poster anywhere you see it on the CreativeLogic site, or just click here, and it takes you to the ARMY MEN page where you can find a synopsis, the YouTube.com embedded film, production stills, and an iPod formatted version for download. This took forever, but it’s been done for a couple of weeks now. After a few rounds of revisions, we finally have what is essentially a final cut. The opening title sequence and a musical sequence in the middle of the show are the only areas that have yet to be cut. These two sequences have not been edited yet because they depend on the music for timing and rhythm.
The show’s theme song, and the “Dance of the Doodads” song are currently being worked on by the composer. When those two bits of music are finished, I can actually complete a final cut and then pass the completed animatic on for the rest of the music.
The animators have a copy of the animatic as of last week, but they are not quite ready to start putting scenes together yet. They are still in the process of building 3D assets. Hopefully the scenes start materializing soon.
